Need a sitter who’s comfortable with the critters most people avoid? I specialize in caring for reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and other exotic pets—no fur required. With professional experience in animal care, including medication administration and specialized husbandry, I offer reliable, knowledgeable service you won’t find on Rover. Whether you’re gone for a day or a week, your pets are in good hands.
Very literal pet sitting (2025)
When you hire me as a pet sitter, you can expect consistent, reliable care tailored to your animals’ specific needs. I provide daily updates and communication, and your home will be left exactly as you found it. I offer complimentary housework such as watering plants, taking out the trash, and collecting mail. I’m experienced with administering medication, working with special needs animals, and am available for overnight stays when needed, ensuring your pets are safe, comfortable, and stress-free in your absence. I also do free meet ups for new clients to meet their pets in person.
Most mainstream pet sitting platforms exclude exotic animals, often labeling them as "dangerous" or too niche. I proudly offer the same high-quality care to all animals—whether they have fur, feathers, scales, or exoskeletons. With over 12 years of experience handling and caring for a wide range of exotic species, I understand their unique needs and behaviors. For animals that are healthy and housed in secure, manageable enclosures, in-home boarding may also be an option.
Your exotic pet may be housed in a room with other exotic animals, so please ensure its terrarium has a secure lid. You are responsible for providing all necessary food, supplies, medications, lighting, and any other care items your animal requires. For the safety and well-being of all animals in my care, I only accept pets that are free from - or have fully recovered from - contagious diseases such as Snake Fungal Disease (SFD), Paramyxovirus, Ranavirus, Mycoplasma, Infectious Stomatitis (mouth rot), Yellow Fungus Disease (YFD), and any external parasites (ticks, fleas, mites). Additionally, I do not accept wild-caught animals or any animals that have not been healthy for at least 90 days prior to boarding.
Clients are required to provide their contact information, a trusted backup contact, and the veterinary practice their animal attends, including the name of the prescribing veterinarian if medications are involved. Please supply any necessary codes or keys for front gates, doors, or locks to ensure proper access for care. Note that any locked doors will remain closed and will not be opened unless explicitly authorized in advance. Please note that overly aggressive animals may require special arrangements or could be declined. I would greatly appreciate receiving a simple written routine and care sheet outlining your pet’s daily needs and any special requirements to ensure consistent care. For dog owners, non-leash aggressive dogs will be walked upon request at no additional charge. Please provide at least 48 hours' notice for cancelations or rescheduling. Photos may be taken for promotional material with consent from any individuals involved.
