Bring your classroom to life with engaging, hands-on visits. I offer live animal demonstrations, curriculum-aligned lessons, and interactive activities that spark curiosity and support learning. Whether you're covering ecosystems, adaptations, or just want to give your students an unforgettable experience, I tailor each visit to fit your classroom’s needs. Best for grades K-5.
Draco being the best boy ever (2018)
My classroom visits are designed to align with NGSS science standards, providing an engaging, standards-based learning experience for your students. Each visit includes three ambassador animals of your choice to support your instructional goals, along with curriculum-relevant interpretive media, worksheets, and hands-on activities. If weather and space allow, the program may be conducted outdoors to take advantage of natural learning opportunities on your campus. For 1 hour, I will engage with your classroom with ambassador animal presentations, hands on activities, games, and answer any questions. I also offer post-visit support to any teachers, parents, or students with follow up questions.
To ensure a safe and effective learning environment, students are expected to be active listeners during the program. Disruptive students may be asked to step away temporarily to maintain group focus and safety. A teacher or staff member must be present at all times to assist with behavior management and uphold normal classroom expectations. They may also be asked to help distribute material if needed. I will need a secure, indoor space to store program materials when not in use - this space should remain undisturbed unless I am present. The classroom is expected to have materials needed for crafts such as construction paper, staplers, colored pencils, etc. I can provide these for an additional fee if needed. Please ensure the room includes an open area where students can sit or stand at least an arm’s width apart for demonstrations and activities. Hand sanitation is required both before and after any interaction with ambassador animals to protect both students and animals.
My programs are best suited for grades K-5 but can be adjusted upon request. A typical 1 hour visit includes a 10 minute introduction, 30-45 minutes of guided activities, and 10-15 minutes of Q&A and wrap-up. If your classroom has different learning needs, please let me know in advance so we can discuss what accommodations need to be made and how I can best support your students. Please provide at least 48 hours' notice for cancelations or rescheduling. Photos may be taken for promotional material with consent from any individuals involved.
The safety and well-being of my ambassador animals is my top priority. Before any interaction, clear expectations will be set and upheld to ensure a respectful and safe environment. If these expectations are not met, or if an animal shows signs of stress, it may be temporarily or prematurely put away. This is a proactive safety measure - stressed animals are more likely to bite, sting, or display other defensive behaviors, and removing them helps protect both the animal and those around it.
